Caught our local bus into the city this morning and walked around to opposite the magnificent Royal Opera building which is where the Stockholm by water cruises start from, we had decided to go on one of these trips first thing as Stockholm is really best viewed from the river, canals & lakes that surround it. Thankfully the boats are covered in as it was a very cold day again today, luckily no rain …… the boat trip was for 2 1/4 hours and was well worth it, went through one lock which separates Lake Malaren from the Baltic Sea, only about a rise of one metre ….. Was a great trip ….. Some photos here >>>
Above video …. Going through the locks ………
After a great cruise through the waterways of Stockholm, we disembarked and walked a few hundred metres to the HOHO bus stop, which we took out to the Nordic Museum, to say this museum is one of the best we have seen is correct, it really does a fantastic job of explaining and showing you the way of life in these cold northern regions of Scandinavia. We spent far to much time in this museum, but when you are seeing such a fascinating array of exhibits and you know you will probably never come here again then it’s better to enjoy it while you can ……
Sorry quite a few photos from this amazing museum below here >>>>>
Video below is of different styles of ‘folk art ‘ over the years …
